The Family Guy Reference Archives

Family Guy TV Show is an American animated comedy created by Seth MacFarlane for FOX in 1999. Family Guy was cancelled in 2002, but impressive response to the show's release on DVD and reruns on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim forced FOX to resume production of the show in 2005 (see "Return to television" below). To date Family Guy is one of only a handful of shows in TV history to be cancelled and later rerun by the power of their fans, and one of the few shows to be brought back to air by the same network that cancelled it. Family Guy is the favourite comedy/animation TV Show, for millions of fans of the Griffins' family, due to eccentric, psychic, sarcastic, satirical sense of humour of MacFarlane and his team. Absolutely the most fascinating, politically incorrect, twisted TV series!

Family Guy History
Family Guy originates back to two shorts of around ten minutes each made by Seth MacFarlane during the mid-1990s, featuring two main characters: Larry, a fat, old, balding idiot man, and Steve the dog, a talking dog who was much smarter than most people. The second of these shorts was broadcast on Cartoon Network in 1997. Fortunately the executives at Fox saw both shorts, and MacFarlane was offered the opportunity to develop a show based on them, which evolved into Family Guy.
The first episode of Family Guy was aired in the United States on January 31, 1999, after Super Bowl XXXIII. The show premiered as a regular series in April and ran for six more episodes until the season finale in the middle of May. The first season contained seven episodes and introduced the viewer to the show's main characters. That was only the beginning! It was cancelled on February 14, 2002 and brought back in May 1, 2005. It is the fifth season of Family Guy. The show counts 73 episodes and still goes on!

Family Guy Cast
It is undoubtable that Seth MacFarlane was the inspirator of Family Guy and the leader persona of the show. He voices Peter, Brian and Stewie. He cooperated with Mila Kunis (voices Megan Griffin), Seth Green (voices Chris Griffin), Alex Borstein (voices Lois Griffin) and Patrick Warburton to complete his concept.

Family Guy Characters
The Griffins, the starring family, is a model family. But the fact of the matter is each member is distinct, complex, and yes a noticeable individual. Peter Green, an Irish American, master in the art of embarrassing, but not productive enouh. is the head of the family. His dog Brian is his best friend. Brian is not a common dog. He talks, he is smarter than more of the people and he prefers his martini dry. His wife, Lois Griffin is a daughter of a rich family, who used to have many boyfriends before she marry Peter. She teaches piano, she is a modern housekeeper and she loves her childrean. Their children are completely distinct., Meg Griffin, a 17 teenager with low self esteam and the dream of being popular, Chris Griffin, a 13 kind hearted boy, who idolises his father and 1 year old Stewie Griffin, a maniac infant who tries to dominate the world are not the most common children that a family could grow. Besides the 6 starring characters there are much more, like Mr Weed (Peter's Boss), Death (the coolest Death ever), crazy Adam West etc. The characters of Family Guy reside in Quahog, Rhode Island, a satirical version of a small Rhode Island town. Quahog also is a slang term for vagina.
The Griffins will have many funny, paranoid, unexpected adventures during the 6-season Family Guy TV Show.
